Russ studied engineering and computer science before changing to a career in spirituality-aware psychotherapy. He earned a master's degree in counseling and a doctorate in psychology and spirituality at Boston College. Russ works with individuals. couples, groups and organizations providing services which integrate psychological and spiritual understandings of human nature. He has presented a wide variety of workshops to communities, congregations and organizations. Russ has done comprehensive assessments and provided psychospiritual treatment in outpatient and residential settings, and he has taught graduate-level college courses on Trauma and Recovery, The Dynamics of Couples, Career Development, and Holistic Psychotherapies. Russ is currently consulting to the Student Counseling Center at Worcester Polytechnic where he trains counseling interns, does presentations, and counsels students.
